Entries for Brown School’s Young Authors publication are due Monday, November 8th.


Yearbook Cover Contest

Information on the yearbook cover contest went home today.  Entries are due Monday, November 22nd.


Honor Credit Union

All interviews have been completed and training for volunteer tellers will begin Monday, November 8th.


Computer Charging

Many students have been coming to school with a computer that is not charged.  Please remind your student that Chromebooks must be charged at home before coming to school.


Library Day

Please note that Mondays are library days for our class. Thank you for your help in reminding your student to return books on time.


Homework reminder: Homework each week consists of reading 20+ minutes at home (this can be a library book, magazine, newspaper, online book, etc) and practicing multiplication and division facts 1 through 12. Mastering multiplication and division facts is vital to our learning this year.

What we are learning this week:

Math:  We will continue our study of equivalent fractions.

ELA: We will focus on visualizing and making inferences when reading text.  We will also explore the genre of historical fiction.

Writing:  We will continue developing our narrative.

Social Studies:  We will continue our unit on geography of the United States.

P2: We will study bravery.  Bravery is defined as “you act with mental, moral, or physical strength even when you know things are difficult or scary.”

Mon. 11/8-Credit Union Teller Training during lunch

Wed. 11/10-Late Start (school begins at 9:20 am) and gym make-up day

Thurs. 11/11-Half day (school dismisses at 12:09 p.m.)

Fri. 11/12-Half day (school dismisses at 12:09 p.m.)

Tues. 11/16 - Thanksgiving Luncheon during lunch

Wed. 11/17-Late Start (school begins at 9:20 am) and P.E. make-up day

Fri. 11/19-Half Day (school dismisses at 12:09 p.m.)  end of 1st trimester

Nov. 24-Nov. 26-Thanksgiving Break-No School

  Change in Swimming Dates Thank you all so much for returning the swimming permission forms so quickly! If you have not yet returned your child’s form, please do so as soon as possible. There has been a slight change in the dates for swimming due to maintenance happening at the high school swimming pool. The NEW dates for swimming will be: May 4, May 18, May 27 and June 1. School Store The Brown Elementary School Store is back! The School Store will be open this Friday March 11 during the school day. There will be a variety of fun school supplies that the students can buy.
