Back To School Night
Partnering with families to ensure a positive school experience is a top priority for our staff. We look forward to beginning this partnership on the evening of September 20th during our Back to School Night event. Important information will be presented by your child's teacher, setting him/her up for success this school year. This adult-only event is for parents/guardians of first-fifth graders & students in ECDD. Please see the schedule below for session times.
ECDD, 1st & 2nd grade: 5:45 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
3rd, 4th & 5th grade: 6:45 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Please note that parking may be a challenge. We suggest that you carpool or walk, if that is an option for you. Feel free to use any parking lot around the school. All of our entry doors will be open that evening.
NWEA Testing Begins
We will begin our reading and math NWEA testing this week. Your student will not need to study for this assessment; it is one of a few assessments that I will be using this year to help guide my instruction for your student this year.
We will take our Math NWEA assessment on Monday September 20th and our Reading NWEA assessment on Wednesday September 22nd. Thursday September 23rd and Friday September 24th will be our reserved make-up day in the event your student needs more time to finish the assessment.
Important Getting to Know Your Student Survey:
If you have not already filled out the Getting to Know You form, please do so as soon as possible. Thank you so much for helping me to get to know your student a bit better!
Picture Day:
Picture day will be Wednesday September 29! Please keep an eye out for more information coming soon.
Classroom Donations:
Thank you so much for the donations of kleenex, clorox wipes, sanitizer and paper towels! They are greatly appreciated! You are welcome to send in more at any time.
As you may already know, due to COVID regulations, students are not able to drink directly from the water fountains this year; they are only able to use the bottle filler feature. I'd like to keep some of the disposable water bottles in our room for students who may forget theirs at home; that way they will still have water to drink throughout the day. If you're able to, we'd greatly appreciate donations of water bottles like the image below (does not have to be this brand):
